Hello and thanks for visiting Mother Dragon.
Let me tell you about myself and how Mother Dragon was born. I have a background in psychology and have worked in the Social Care field for the past 20 years in Australia, the UK and Ireland. I have always loved fashion and in 2015 I started my blog lovetomtom.com. The blog has been a great outlet for sharing my styling tips and for meeting like-minded people. I also share my love for makeup. Red lipstick is a must. I LOVE food. Let’s not forget coffee and travel. More recently, I have added the roller coaster that is parenthood to my interests.
You may think psychology and fashion are worlds apart. Yet, it is the mix of the two that has helped me understand the power of dressing. I have experimented with fashion. I did not always get it right. Still, I have been capable of using fashion to my advantage. It reflects my style, my mood, and my body. I assumed my knowledge and skills as a savvy consumer would continue during my pregnancy with my little lady. But, that was not my experience at all. Suddenly, my superpower was gone. My body was changing. The limited choice in maternity brands and clothes overwhelmed me. It felt like the first time you feel your baby kick. You think I would have learned my lesson on my next pregnancy. Yes, I was in a better position to understand the changes happening to my body. But my body was once again different. My mind hadn’t quite caught up.
The limited choice of maternity brands and clothes affected my mind and body. This experience, together with my studies in personal styling led to the birth of Mother Dragon. One place presenting a curated collection of preloved maternity and breastfeeding clothing. It is a store that offers what’s already in the supply chain. This gives you choice, ease, and confidence as you dress during this phase in your life.
While researching and developing this idea, I asked an amazing group of women for their ideas. Their brief was to focus on the woman. The baby gets enough attention. What came back was a sense of strength. There is nothing more fierce than a woman, a mother who likes what she is wearing and that is how Mother Dragon was born.
