Denim and I haven’t always been on the same page. For a long time it was black jeans or nothing. If it didn’t feel right, I assumed it was my body that was the problem. What I’ve learned (and what I wish I knew sooner) is that denim is never just one thing. It behaves differently depending on how it’s made and that changes everything. Some denim has stretch, which gives you that bit of give when your body is changing or growing. Some is more rigid, which holds its shape but doesn’t always move with you. Some is lightweight and soft, draping easily over the body. Others are heavier and more structured, sitting away from you and creating shape. And then there’s fit. Straight, relaxed, skinny, barrel. Not better or worse, just different ways of sitting on a changing body. That’s why I love pieces like this. Easy and no overthinking. The kind of thing you can put on and feel like yourself in, whatever stage you’re at. There’s a reason denim never really leaves us. You just have to find the version that works for you.
