Hello. I hope you are all keeping well. I want to update you on what’s been happening for Mother Dragon the past few months as there are some really exciting things cooking.

Winner!

The first bit of new I want to share is that Mother Dragon won an award! I was thrilled to get the news that Mother Dragon won Best Maternity Clothing Provider in the EU Business News Irish Enterprise Awards 2024. It is so great to see Mother Dragon recognised and I can’t thank you enough for the support and kind wishes.

Sell/Donate to Mother Dragon

Thank you to everyone who has been in touch wanting to support Mother Dragon by either selling or donating your clothes. It highlights just how many clothes are already in the supply chain. For the time being, I won’t be taking on any new stock and I will let you know via Mother Dragon’s social media channels and updates here on the website as to when I’m back open for stock. Until then, be sure to familiarise yourself with Mother Dragon’s Preloved Definitions as these are used in the sell/donate process..

I have been blown away by the generosity of those wanting to donate their clothes to Mother Dragon. As a way to pay your kindness forward, when clothes are donated, Mother Dragon makes a donation to a charity of your choice. Earlier this year, I ran a flash sale on Instagram with €2 from every sale going to UNICEF’s Gaza appeal. Between the flash sale, some of you adding to Mother Dragon’s €2 donation and other donations of preloved maternity and breastfeeding clothes, €100 has been sent to Unicef’s Gaza appeal. It feels like a small gesture in comparison to what is going on in the world but an important gesture to make, so thank you.

If you follow Mother Dragon on social media you may have heard me speak about Mother Dragon’s Social Responsibility. This is something that will focus on donations to the store as well as Mother Dragon’s contribution to the community. I’m hoping to develop some key partnerships with services that support women so stayed tuned!

Pop-Up

Unfortunately I am not making an announcement about Mother Dragon’s first pop-up, not yet anyway, but it is in the works. The Baby Market in Dublin was a huge success and I appreciate every message I get asking ‘when can I come and visit a Mother Dragon store?’ I am currently exploring a number of pop-up locations so until then, remember Mother Dragon is open online seven days a week and you may see me at various markets throughout the year.

Colour analysis is everywhere right now. We're told certain colours make us glow, while others wash us out. And maybe that's true. But is colour analysis a genuinely useful tool that makes getting dressed easier? Or is it just another fashion rule that's complicating the way we get dressed? Personally, I think understanding colour can be helpful. But I also think wearing a colour you love counts for a lot, even if it's not in your 'season'. So tell me, have you had your colours done? Mother Dragon exists because I know how difficult it can be to find clothes that fit your changing body, your style and your budget during pregnancy and postpartum. Every woman deserves to feel comfortable, confident and like herself during this stage of life. That's why I'm looking to connect with a new organisation that supports women through pregnancy, postpartum and early motherhood. You might be a social worker, midwife, doula, community worker, volunteer, family support worker, charity leader, or someone working directly with women and families. But they still need to be pieces you want to wear. The best pieces quietly do both. They're the ones you reach for again and again without thinking about it.
